Grizz use evacuation for comeback

The second biggest sports story in the state of Tennessee last night was surprisingly the Grizzlies vs. the Clippers. The game was delayed in the third quarter because of a minor emergency that led to the evacuation of FedEx Forum.

According to the Commercial Appeal, a water main burst and flooded an area near the arena’s loading dock, triggering a fire alarm. During a Baron Davis free throw, the scoreboard went blank and then showed a message asking everyone to leave the building without using elevators.

Both teams boarded buses during the 17 minute evacuation and thankfully there was no major damage to the building and no injuries reported.

Was this delay planned by the team? The Grizzlies were down 12 at the time of the evacuation but overcame the delay and Baron Davis' triple double for the 104-102 victory.
