ABC last night announced the network's "Dancing With The Stars" contestant lineup for the upcoming season and the athlete participants include Lakers F Ron Artest and U.S. women's national soccer team G Hope Solo.
Artest told the LA Times that he plans to donate the money he earns on the show to the Cancer Research Foundation in honor of his 8-year-old daughter, who was diagnosed with a type of kidney cancer in 2007.
Artest said that he will donate the $125,000 appearance fee and any additional money he earns should he advance in each round.
"That's the only reason I'm doing it," Artest said. "I'm doing it for a cause."
Season 13 of "Dancing with the Stars" kicks off on Sept. 19 and other participants include Ricki Lake, Nancy Grace, David Arquette, Chaz Bono, Rob Kardashian, Kristin Cavallari, Elisabetta Canalis, J.R. Martinez, Chynna Phillips and Carson Kressley.
