Suh Stomp Gets Animated

With news of Lions DT Ndamukong Suh earning a two-game suspension for stomping Packers' OL Evan Dietrich-Smith on Thanksgiving Day, we thought it would be appropriate to post NMAWorldEdition's take on the situation.

We're huge fans of this Taiwanese company's video commentaries on popular sports scandals such as Penn State, Brett Favre and the NBA lockout.

Karma hits Stevie Johnson

Bills WR Stevie Johnson found out yesterday that karma is indeed a b*tch.

The not-so-serious wideout celebrated a second-quarter touchdown against the Jets by dancing the in the end zone and then pretending to shoot himself in the leg, making fun of the infamous Plaxico Burress incident that landed the Jets wide receiver in jail a few years back.

Ironically, the dance didn't earn Johnson a penalty but after completing his celebration by falling to the ground, the refs threw a flag.

Karma struck Johnson as he dropped a sure-thing touchdown pass that would have won the game for Buffalo. Trailing 28-24 with less than a minute left, Johnson was open across the middle of the field and dropped a pretty pass from Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick.

After the game, Johnson said he regretted the celebration but not because it was offensive to Burress, but because the 15-yard penalty hurt his team. He told NFL Network's Albert Breer that, "It was very stupid by me. I feel like it cost us the game."

Burress didn't seem to mind the celebration since the Jets got the win. "I've seen worse," he said. "I've heard worse."

Penn State's Fall From Grace Gets Animated

Over the last year or so, has released animated videos showcasing top sports stories/scandals and the group has launched their Penn State episode.

Although a bit inappropriate, the episode is still worth a watch. Check it out.

Just a few weeks ago, Penn State's Joe Paterno was one of American college football's most beloved coaches. With more than 400 wins under his belt over a half-century long career, it seemed like a sure bet that JoePa would retire with an impeccable record. However, all that changed when child abuse allegations involving his former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky surfaced.

The scandal soon engulfed the Penn State football program and beyond. Even though Sandusky retired as assistant coach in 1999, he continued to be closely associated with Penn State and used the college facilities with his charity for at-risk youth, The Second Mile.

In 2002, Mike McQueary, then a graduate assistant coach, walked in on Sandusky sexually assaulting a boy in the locker rooms at Penn State. McQueary reported the incident to Paterno, who reported it in turn to the administrator up the chain of command. But neither men followed up to make sure the charges were properly lodged with the police. Sandusky went on to abuse other boys before he was finally arrested on 5 Nov, 2011. The grand jury indictment of Sandusky alleges 40 counts of sex crimes against young boys and identified 8 victims.

Even though Paterno did not break any laws, the Penn State board of trustees fired him on 9 Nov. Penn students marched in a show of support for their beloved JoePa. But beyond the circle of die-hard supporters, Paterno's reputation has been irrevocably besmirched by the fact that he could have stopped a predator who preyed on children, but he did not do enough.

Call of Duty to blame for Louisville Loss?

At his weekly press conference on Monday, Louisville football coach Charlie Strong answered questions about the Cardinals' 21-14 loss to Pitt and said his team was not prepared to play the Panthers on Saturday because they spent too much time playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 last week.

The Courier-Journal said Strong believed “his players seemed to be more enthused about playing Call to Duty than preparing for Pittsburgh.”

Strong had to pull his players off the field during pregame warmups to help their focus and also described his players as not very mature after the game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 hit stores last week and reportedly earned over $400 million in sales in its first 24 hours.

Check out Strong's thoughts on this video game's impact on his team.

Nelson's Romantic TD Celebration

Although it was the Bills' only score in a 44-7 shellacking at the hands of the Cowboys, David Nelson's touchdown celebration was one of the best (and most romantic) of the season.

After catching a 3-yard TD pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick in the second quarter, Nelson ran to the opposite end of Cowboys Stadium and gave the ball to Dallas cheerleader Kelsi Reich, his girlfriend.

"It was a special moment to share with her," said Nelson after the Bills' loss.
"If it would have been a better situation, I would have done a little more," he added. "Being down 14, I'm not going to go to celebrate too much."

Thankfully for Nelson, the NFL team/cheerleader dating rules don't apply to opponents. Check out the video below:

Giants Get Violent in Endzone Again

Standing in the endzone during a New York Giants game continues to be dangerous for stadium staff.

Back in week 2, Giants LB Michael Boley celebrated a 65-yard fumble recovery touchdown by throwing the ball at the wall behind the endzone. His errant pass hit a Giants video intern in the face and bounced off the head of a cameraman.

Yesterday in the 3rd quarter of the G-Men's game vs. the Patriots, CB Corey Webster showed his frustration after dropping an interception in the endzone by punching the padding around the base of the goal post. However, a security guard was standing behind the post and got a little love tap from Webster.

Thankfully, Webster made up with the security guard. Check out the full video here.

Verlander Earns MLB 2K12 Cover

2K Sports announced last night that Tigers P Justin Verlander is the cover athlete for "MLB 2K12," the latest version of the company's baseball video game series.

"I've worked closely with 2K Sports on the MLB 2K series since 2007, and I couldn't be more excited to continue my relationship with such a great baseball game," Verlander said in a statement.

The cover announcement was in conjunction with Verlander winning the 2011 Player of the Year and AL Most Outstanding Pitcher honors at the MLBPA's annual Players Choice Awards.

The award selections were made by fellow major league players and announced last night in a one-hour special that aired on the MLB Network and was sponsored by 2K Sports.

Verlander was one of the best pitcher in all of baseball this season, going 24-5 with a 2.40 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 250 strikeouts in 251 innings. He led the majors in wins, strikeouts, WHIP and innings pitched while leading the AL in ERA. His 6.2 hits allowed per nine innings was also best in the bigs.

CP3 & Fam Destroyed on "Family Feud"

As if being locked-out of opening night wasn't bad enough, Hornets PG Chris Paul was on "Family Feud" yesterday and the Paul family got crushed by the O’Hara's 358-70.

CP3's roster included his mom Robin, son Chris, brother C.J., dad Charles and aunt Rhonda but the Paul crew had no chance against Boston's O'Hara's.

Check out a clip below.

Durant Plays Intramural Flag Football

Instead of trick or treating and/or watching the gross Monday Night Football game between the Chiefs and Chargers, Thunder F Kevin Durant spent Halloween night on the gridiron at Oklahoma State.

The locked-out NBA scoring champ played an intramural flag football game for OSU's Sigma Nu fraternity and put on a show in front of around 500 student spectators.

Durant balled at quarterback and defensive back and the Daily Oklahoman has the full story about how KD got the football invite via Twitter.

Durant was definitely the best QB who played last night. No word yet if the Chargers plan to bring him in for a workout.
